My Background
Teacher
I taught elementary and middle school-aged children for 17 years. I loved interacting with children in that setting, but I watched them face so many barriers to learning such as mental, emotional, and relational challenges. Kids were dealing with anxiety, anger, abandonment, depression, suicide ideation, and more. I needed more information about how to help them surmount the barriers.
Preacher
For four years, I shared the peace and healing I experienced in my relationship with God in a formal capacity as a chaplain and youth pastor. Spirituality has always been a grounding feature of my life, so it was my honor to walk alongside students and families that were hurting. I tried to bind up their wounds as best I could, but I was still seeing some of the same barriers. Only this time, it was stopping people from connecting with God. I was sure there was more.
Writer
As a published author, I have shared the healing I discovered through my three books, my blog, freelance articles, poems, and plays. My writing has always been to encourage, uplift, and inspire. Still, I felt there was more.
I became a Relational Therapist to help you get MORE from your life and relationships.
As a relational therapist, I help couples, families, and individuals surmount barriers like feeling depressed, low self-worth, thoughts of suicide, healing from heartbreak, abandonment, abuse, or truama, difficulties with healthy communication, Marital issues, Family discord, and more. I do it because I want to see black and brown communities thrive and I believe the way to that goal is through Building healthier families.

My Philosophy
Expertise
I believe you are the expert on your life while I am the expert on therapy. We will combine our expertise to help you move toward your goals.
Holistic
When you come to see me, you aren’t just a mom or a husband or an employee. You are more than what you do or who you are related to. You are a whole person that is multifaceted and the therapy process I facilitate reflects that.
Mindful
I know from experience how difficult it is to open yourself to someone and share your innermost thoughts and feelings with a therapist you’ve just met. I will be mindful of that to ensure that the delicate process of opening will be as safe and beneficial for you as possible.
My Hope
I am a Marriage and Family therapist. My brand of therapy is relational because I know how challenges in your relationships with your parents, siblings, friends, bosses, or romantic partners can get in the way of the life you want because I was once stuck due to the “baggage” of unhealthy relationships. When I started my journey toward freedom, I knew I had to help others. It is my hope that the people I serve would be able to embrace who they are, heal from past hurts, live authentically in all their relationships, leave the baggage behind, and move toward self-actualization, life-giving intimacy, and love!
